Dunkin' Donuts Launches First Dark Roast Coffee

Dunkin' Donuts is set to launch their first dark roast coffee on Monday, September 23rd to help the brand compete with Starbucks. Dunkin' Donuts stock took a hit in July after less-than-stellar quarterly results, and CEO Nigel Travis says the new dark roast is a critical part of their war with Starbucks.

The new Dunkin' Donuts dark roast is available in both hot and iced versions. According to the company's executive Michelle King, the coffee is bittersweet, full-bodied, rich and aromatic. While their original coffee is described as "fruity, lively and sweet", the new blend has a bolder start and a smooth finish. Dunkin' had another launch earlier this month with their Colombian Packaged Coffee- their "first-ever single-origin packed coffee".
